| Research and Technology Development
Located within the Transportation Policy and Planning Administration (TPPA), the DDOT Research, Technology and Development Program promotes innovation in the application of new technologies through research, development and technology transfer programs. The program also provides information services to department staff and joins with others to find solutions to common and unique transportation problems.
Mission
The mission of the DDOT Research, Technology and Development Program is to support the transportation vision of the department by facilitating and promoting transportation research and technology transfer activities.
Goals
The DDOT Research, Technology and Development Program seeks to:
- Facilitate and promote transportation research, development, and technology transfer activities.
- Increase awareness of the Research Program among employees, citizens and diverse interest groups, internal or external to the District of Columbia.
- Maximize the use of universities located within the District in execution of the mission.
- Integrate the research program into the daily activities that impact the DDOT and the general public.
- Ensure that research and technology transfer activities are useful in furthering the mission of DDOT.
